MA, LPCC-S, NARM Master Therapist

she/her/hers

The decision to try therapy or see a new therapist is not always an easy one. As human beings, we might have the misunderstanding that we should be able to handle all of life's struggles on our own, that it is not okay to ask for help, or that we should have worked through our struggles by now. Sometimes we expect to be judged if we tell people what’s really going on, it may feel as though change is hard (of course not changing is hard, too), we might believe that no one will understand what we’re dealing with or how it feels to be dealing with it, or we’ve been taught that asking for help shows weakness.

In therapy, many people find they don’t have to do things alone and that change is possible. Although the details of each person's experiences are unique, some aspects of being human are universal. It takes great strength to face and deal with some of our experiences, and to take the steps to move forward into what seems like the unknown.

We can address a wide range of experiences. Some of these include:

  • Anxiety

  • Bipolar Disorders

  • Depression

  • Food or eating concerns/Eating Disorders

  • Neurodivergency (including ADHD and Autism dynamics)

  • Substance use/Addiction

  • Codependency

I have practiced as a Counselor since 2013, and have been fully in private practice since 2019. I have worked in various levels of addiction treatment, therapeutic foster care, and in a county corrections center. I have participated in the NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) training for therapists since 2017, and continue to study this model of therapy in order to deepen my understanding of the complex experiences we have as human beings and to support my own healing process.

I work with clients who have seen lots of therapists in the past as well as clients who are trying therapy for the first time. I enjoy working with therapists as clients and offer consultation around case conceptualization and countertransference. My hope as a Counselor is to work with you to identify and explore what you want for yourself, and work through what might be getting in the way of that.

Services

  • I practice NARM therapy (NeuroAffective Relational Model), which was developed to address the self-defeating patterns (we all have them) that affect relationships, workplace dynamics, how we relate to ourselves and how we experience the world.

I provide therapy for clients using telehealth (video sessions) in the states of Ohio, Florida, Arizona, and North Carolina.

  • I offer case consultation for therapists. Consultation generally focuses on countertransference, case conceptualization, and clinical questions. Case consultation does not count toward licensure hours, and is available to therapists of all licensures and in any location.

  • I provide training and work supervision for Counselor Trainees, Licensed Professional Counselors as well as Marriage and Family Therapists (up to 60 hours for MFTs, as allowed by the Ohio CSWMFT Board) in Ohio. Supervision is process-oriented individual, triadic, and group supervision focused on countertransference, boundary setting, self-care, burnout/compassion fatigue, healthy life balance, and case conceptualization, as well as support and guidance in ethical questions and licensing.

Triadic and group supervision are available depending on the number of available supervisees.

  • I offer speaking engagements and educational presentations for groups and organizations, including various topics related to wellness, mental health, and addiction. If you're interested in organizing a group education event please contact me to discuss options.
